Cllr Choudry has asked me to issue this clarification to my blog post:
When I said ‘done deal’ I was referring to the Government’s settlement to the Council, not to the Council’s own budget. No decisions have been taken yet in relation to our budget, and won’t be until the Council has consulted fully with residents and partners.

I would like to hear a recording back of Councillor Choudry's comments. I was at the Brent Connects meeting where he said this and my recollection is that his comment amounted to: "I don't know how far residents will be able to have any influence since the budget is pretty much a done deal".
That is not a direct quote, but it is certainly the jist of his comment. Another Brent "consultation". Times are hard but surely they can afford a dictionary.
